About our lab

The lab is shared between two research institutes at the University of Louvain (Belgium): the Institute of Research in Psychology (IPSY) and the Institute of Neuroscience (IoNS), located respectively in Louvain-la-Neuve and Brussels.

Our goal is to understand how the human brain recognizes people by their face.

We tackle this difficult problem by using a variety of approaches: recording of behavioral measures (psychophysics), human electrophysiology (ERPs, EEG), neuroimaging (PET, fMRI), recordings of eye movements with gaze-contingency, single-case studies of brain-damage patients (prosopagnosia), behavioral and EEG studies of infants and children, and human intracerebral recordings and electrical stimulations.
